I wanted to write and tell you about two great community events going on in Grandview Heights, Ohio this weekend. Grandview is an amazing community that I am so happy to be a part of, and they throw an awesome party.
Kick off a great summer weekend on Friday with the 21st Tour de Grandview Cycling Classic, organized by the Grandview Community Association with sponsorship from the City of Grandview Heights. This fast paced cycling event brings professional cyclists to central Ohio and features five pro races as well as a kids sprint and a charity lap.
Along with the excitement of the races, there will be a street party hosted on Grandview Avenue, with local music, food trucks, and craft beer being poured by The Ohio Taproom. Things kick off with races starting on First Ave. at 6pm. The last races will be wrapping up under the lights at 10:30pm.
I’ll be present taking pictures for the event, and am psyched to witness my first Tour de Grandview. If you see me say hello and maybe we can grab a drink! To learn more about the community of Grandview you can visit Destination Grandview, and you can learn more about the race itself and see the course map at the official Tour de Grandview website.
Saturday will be the second installment of The Grandview Hop, which I wrote about last month here. The hop will take place from 5-9pm on Grandview Avenue (the same place as Friday night’s street party) between 1st and 5th Avenues. It looks like this month with have a variety of events for your favorite pooch, get treats, and a little bit of pampering for the family dog and the chance to meet up with other dog owners. Judging by last month’s event there are a lot of dogs that live in Grandview!
As always there will be local vendors, food trucks, and music to enjoy the summer evening by. The Pink Woobie will again be in attendance with growler carriers and hand spun yarn among other creative and original items. The weather looks pleasant if a little warm, but The Grandview Hop will take place rain or shine, I hope to see you there!
